14 day review When I purchased the item, it was out of stock but a calefort support team member assured me that it would restock within a week and shipped that same day. They kept their word and the whole process went smooth. The cooler arrived within 2 days of being shipped.
When it arrived I was amazed at the great professional packaging. The outside was surrounded by a thick carton. In the inside it had thick foam walls, covering all of the sides and bottom. It arrived without a scratch or dent. Worthy to note that the carrier that they picked( FedEx) did a great job handling the package.
I’ve had a couple of wine coolers and I can say this one was made with very high quality materials. It’s sturdy, the cooling system on the back looks nicely assembled, the inside was properly designed, the wooden racks gives it a nice touch and they fit perfect. The door handle was easy to assemble and the instructions were clear.
I kept upright for 48 hours prior to turning it on. After the 48 hours, I plugged it in and it cooled relatively fast( 45-1hr) depending on the temperature you desire (55 degrees for mine). 14 days later, I’ve had no issues with it, it keeps the humidity very constant, the temperature is 1 or 2 degrees above the one set on the lcd (keep in mind that digital thermometers usually have a margin of error of +\- 1-2 degrees) but that usually doesn’t affect the bottles at all. It can probably be a variance of the thermometer that I put in it to have a reference. The cooling system is very subtle. When the compressor turns off and you get close to the system you can hear the internal fan running (to keep the humidity and temp constant) but for me that’s not an issue. The insulation keeps the temperature on point for a long time so the compressor doesn’t turn on constantly(depends on the temperature set).
Finally, the customer service has been very diligent, they respond within 1 day of contacting them and that’s a very important aspect when it comes to warranty and claims. Comparing to other wine coolers, the warranty in this cooler is great and it gives you confidence that if something happens, they’ll cover you.
To this day, I think it’s a great wine cooler, it competes with the big brands in the market. It may not have a lot of marketing like the other brands but it really delivers, from the outside to the inside. I’ll be giving a second review after 6 months.
